CREATIVE TEACHING WITH LEARN TO TALK ABOUT VEHICLES & OCCUPATIONS
Goal: Teach students to describe community workers and the vehicles we use
Learn a teaching stratagy that gets your child/student to do this in real life

DIRECTIONS
The teacher and student take turns in picking a card from the deck and placing it in the empty box, out of view from the other player.  Now the player must find out what the card is by asking "Yes" and "No" Questions, such as "Does he wear a uniform", "Does he work with animals?" etc.  When the answer is determined, the player must describe the card before he gets to keep it.  At the end of the game, the cards can be cashed in for rewards.

PREPARATION
Use the Learn to talk about Vehicles & Occupations Pack which has 40 photo cards with descriptions about the photo, listed clearly on the back of each card.  The player hides the card in the empty box and holds the box so that the photo is facing him, but the back of the box faces the other player.  In the more advanced stages you can determine how many sentences are required to describe the photo before the player gets the card, but we recommend by starting with the items listed on the back of each card.  (Don't forget to determine awards ahead with your student ahead of the game.)

WHAT YOU NEED:
1.  Learn to Talk about Vehicles and Occupations
2.  To be ready to have fun

EXAMPLE OF A GAME
The student picks a card and hides it behind the box, where he can refer to the photo and description on the back if need be.
Teacher:  Is it a community worker?
Student: No
Teacher: Is it a vehicle?
Student:  Yes?
Teacher: Does an emergency worker drive it?
Student:  Yes.

The game continues and when the teacher guesses the card, they switch roles and the student must guess the mystery card.  When he/she is correct, they keep the card which will allow him/her to cash their cards in for rewards at the end of the game.
