Let's play doctor

$20.00

How do you learn to view a situation from somebody else's perspective? You mentally put yourself in their shoes. And how do you do that? It all begins with PRETEND PLAY.
But pretend play does a lot more than teaching perspective. It teaches creativity and expanded thought.

Pretend play
This book goes through all the steps of a pretend play situation. For example, a doctor goes to the office, takes care of his patients, listens to their heart, checks their ears, takes their temperature and makes them better if they feel sick. Each page is clearly illustrated and your child see's him/herself as the main character.

Customize this book
Simply place a photo of your child's face in the book. Seeing himself/herself in the role of the main character makes it so easy to play out the steps later. Are you working with more than one child? Use Velcro to attach and detach photo's.

Generalize the skills
The last few pages are dedicated to helping a child generalize these situations in real life. There are pages with blocks that are used for your own family photos. You'll also find real life photographs of real doctors helping patients, such as taking their temperature, putting on a band aid and using a stethoscope. A blank page is included for you to personalize with social stories or visual images.
