About this service
-
Natural Learning Concepts has
launched a job service for people on
the autism spectrum. This free
service is very much needed and
welcomed by the community. It's an

employers to provide jobs to people
with Autism/Asperger’s. There is no
fee for this service and it is NOT
limited to location. If you can get
on-line, you can get a job! People
around the globe
visit the website and it’s the
perfect place to connect if you have
autism and are seeking a job or if
you’re an employer with job
openings.

Our view at Natural Learning
Concepts
-
People with autism might have
different perceptions, behavior and
mannerisms. That doesn’t make them
wrong, it makes them unique.
However, it's what we focus on that
makes the difference. Why do so many
programs insist on "prohibiting
perseverations and obsessions"? Why
not refer to this behavior as
"special interests" and encourage
people with autism to expand on
their natural talents and interests?
If we commend them for who they are
and really believe in them, people
with autism will excel in more ways
than imaginable. The Government will
need to spend far less funds
supporting people with autism. Those
on the spectrum will have self
esteem, lead productive lives and
contribute greatly to society.

How we began this service and what
we plan to achieve
-
We practice what we preach! When we
needed staff we were determined to
hire someone on the autism
spectrum. People with autism often
get overlooked because of poor
social and interview skills. We
believe quality of work is far more
important than interpersonal
skills. At times, we might be
required to give some extra support
but the rewards are GREAT. We have
a wonderful employee and he loves
his job! If
everyone does this with even one
employee in their company, this
world will be a wonderful place to
live for people who have autism.

About people with autism and
Asperger’s
-
Some people on the autism spectrum
have phenomenal skills. Their brains
function differently to ours and
they are capable of such a diverse
range of exceptional abilities. It’s
incredible how many talents they
have that we could never have the
capacity to tap into. Some are able
to calculate the square footage of a
room instantly, just by looking at
it, others are math wizards and
others have incredible memories.
Given a supportive environment, they
can contribute to the work force in
ways we never dreamed possible.

-
Good reasons to hire people with
autism and Asperger’s
-
- Many have the ability to focus
intently on projects.
-
- Others are very detailed and excel
in any position requiring this
skill.
-
- Some are excellent at finding
imperfections and make top notch
editors.
-
- With excellent research abilities,
many make outstanding technical
writers.
-
- Often they have a wealth of
knowledge and have excellent
computer skills.
-
- Some have excellent catalog and
sorting skills.
-
- Others excel in routine work and
never miss a beat.
-
- Typically people with autism are
punctual, loyal and dedicated
employees who prefer to remain in
the same company for a long period
of time.

Autism job skills
-
People with autism are diverse and
have varied skills. Just like
anyone, their work preferences and
skills are in-line with their
interests and motivation. Some
people with autism require routine
work with low stress levels. Others
would do well in a position where
they can bring their unique talents
and skills to the workforce. If you
have a job to fill in your
organization, please post it or let
us know and we’ll gladly add it to
our job database for you.

-
Tax credit
-
Many employers inquire about this
benefit. Employers do receive a tax
credit if the employee receives
financial aid from the government.
If the employee doesn’t receive
financial assistance, the company
receives great benefits from a
valuable employee with a unique
perspective.

Summer and part time jobs
-
This service is not limited to full
time employment. There are a wealth
of candidates on the autism spectrum
who would like part time and
summer jobs. We urge you to look in
your organization and see if you can
find a place to support one of these
remarkable people. Please don’t
“pre-decide” jobs people are capable
of doing. If you’re hesitant or
unsure, please call us and let’s
talk about it.

-
